The differences among the archaeological legacy of the central highland against the western territory are very notorious. Of the big constructions and the big populational establishments, to
the small communities practically of communal type those differences

| The classic ceramic of occident had
been stopped to produce a lot of time behind, contrary to the whole heap
of artistic and cultural manifestations that they offer in the central
highland. In this area of the Western Mexico very clear examples exist
of which the main concerns of the inhabitants of this area were; the human
figures and their daily activities, the domestic animals that watch over,
sleep and they dance they are characteristic of this type of prehispanic
art.
With a volcano in the door and an Ocean Pacific few times making honor to their name, Colima stayed in an almost secular isolation. The mixture of cultures is big in this area, the ceremonies and indigenous dances, the Hispanic religiosity, the cadence and sensuality of the black and mulatto, and the love to the sciences and the fine arts brought by the Europeans, they make of this small State a place where you/they intermingle all type of likes and manifestations. |
