Nayarit  

The State of Nayarit is located in the northwest of the Mexican Republic; it is adjacent to the North with the States of Sinaloa and Durango, to the South with Jalisco, to the East with Zacatecas and Jalisco and to the West with the Ocean Pacific.

It has a surface of 28,874 km2., an altitude of around 900 meters on the level of the sea and almost 300 kilometers of coast with the Ocean Pacific. In Nayarit they converge the Sierra Western Mother, the Coastal Plain of the Pacific, the Axis Traverse volcanic Neo and the Sierra of the South. This makes that the entity has Mountains, Valleys, Forests, Lands of Cultivation and Pastizales, Volcanos, Rivers, Lagoons, Swamps, Tidelands, Beaches and Plains.

Their capital is Tepic.

To the state they conform it 20 municipalities that together contain not much more than a million inhabitants; Being Tepic, the capital of the state, where a bigger demographic concentration, politics is presented and economic.

They exist in Nayarit four ethnic groups that are: Coras, Huicholes, Tepehuanos and Mexicaneros. All them seated in remote places of the nayaritan Sierra.

Nayarit is preponderantly an entity agricultural; the main cultivations that take place are: tobacco, cane of sugar, bean, corn, coffee, mango, banana, melon, watermelon and a great diversity of vegetables.

The fishing is also a productive activity that generates important resources to the economy of the nayaritas, mainly the shrimp it is captured. Also, the extensive coast of the Pacific offers big opportunities to the fishermen of the marine species.

Nayarit is endowed with beautiful beaches of soft slope and calm surf that extend along the 290 kilometers of the coast of the Pacific.

Nayarit possesses incredible places worthy of being visited; areas archaeological, dense forests and an extensive area of swamps that offer the visitor the opportunity to appreciate the wild life in all their splendor.
